I honestly can't say I've ever been anywhere quite like Las Vegas. The lights, sounds and atmosphere is like no other!
Las Vegas is home to over 151,000 guest rooms, and if you take a walk along the famous strip, you'll soon see all the incredibly themed hotels. Because of the high competition along the Las Vegas strip, hotel rooms are really reasonably priced. If you're staying for a longer period of time, most people choose to stay in several different hotels just to be able to experience the different themes and luxuries on offer. As we were only staying 2 nights we stayed in the same hotel. The 'Venetian' was massive! I'm not even joking, it took us 30 minutes to find reception from the car park and we had to walk through the shopping "mall" and a casino to get to the room...it's so big it has it's own SatNav App...
It also has a river inside where you can go on gondola rides!
The whole hotel is amazing it felt like I was staying in a real life palace! I felt like royalty the whole time!

After a quick swim in one of the hotel's 7 pools (despite trying to swim in all 7 throughout our stay we only managed to find 6...) we went for a wander around the hotel to explore the shops. The inside "mall" is styled to look like it's outside by having paintings of clouds on the ceiling. When we went outside, it was sooooo hot and humid. My phone reckoned it was 42 degrees celcius and that's in the dark and night time... so you definitely won't need a jumper...

We wandered down the strip and saw all of the famous sights such as mini Paris, the exploding volcano outside the Mirage and the dancing water fountains outside the Bellagio. If you go to Vegas you should definitely check the show times for both of these free shows! The city really comes alive at night and it's so busy! There's about 100 people trying to cross the road at the same time amongst Stretched-Limos, Taxi-Cabs, posh cars, street performers, people trying to sell stuff (including bottles of water out of shopping trolleys?), people dressed as Superheroes and girls in big sparkly feathery hats. Crazy! But fabulous!
The city is massive and there's so much to see, you could spend weeks just exploring the different themed hotels. It only comes alive at night though so most people hit the pool during the day time - especially because it's so hot! I'd definitely love to go back and explore the hotels more!
We visited the Grand Canyon during the day we were there. You can read about that here.
